Fishing on Commanda Lake started off a little slow this year. Opening day, there was mostly just Crappie and Catfish being caught. Didn't even see a walleye until the second week. Now that it is June, the walleye are biting big time. Yep, and plenty of them. Yummm..good eating. The weather has been good. Windy at first, but now the fair weather is coming. I even got my first sunburn. Last year at this time the blackflies were insane. They came out early this year, even before the long weekend, but they really haven't been too bad. You've gotta expect some blackflies in the spring up North, but I'm happy to see they are nowhere near as bad as they were last year. Wonder if there is a relation between the blackfly season and the fishing?
